Our 14th Postcard Art Exhibit is nearly here, and we couldn't be more thrilled to share this extraordinary event with you! Curated by the talented Robin Pedrero, #postcardartexhibit24 is coming together beautifully in the lovely city of McKinney, Texas, at the historic Cotton Mill venue.
It's a Collective Masterpiece! Once again, you've answered the call, artists! With your creativity and generosity, we now have hundreds of unique, handcrafted art cards that will soon adorn the walls of our exhibit. Each card tells a story, and together, they create a collection filled with imagination, passion, and artistic expression. The countdown to the exhibition is on, and we can't wait to reveal this stunning display to you next weekend.
This has been a journey of dedication. As I step into my second year as Executive Director of the Postcard Art Exhibit, it’s been a rewarding challenge finding the time and energy to ensure everything runs smoothly. It has been my greatest honor to support our incredible artists, work alongside our dedicated team, and collaborate behind the scenes to make this year’s event unforgettable. All our efforts are dedicated to supporting the MillHouse Foundation, which uplifts artists by providing greater visibility, sales opportunities, and avenues for creative collaboration. Through gallery exhibits, public art installations, and strategic social media campaigns, they elevate artistic voices and foster talent. By participating, you are helping MillHouse advance its mission of enhancing economic opportunities for micro-business owners in the creative sector. I'm proud to be donating my time to this creative mission.
Curating alongside Robin Pedrero has been an absolute privilege, and I am equally grateful to have worked with Dr. Beth Beck and Aimee Woolverton, co-founders of the MillHouse Foundation. After months of virtual planning, meeting everyone in person next week will be a true joy!
I also must express heartfelt thanks to Sarah Pooley and Kelly Kitson. Sarah's invaluable graphic design and image processing work have been vital to this project. She has also generously taken on the role of our UK shipping coordinator for the second year running, making international orders more affordable for our artists and supporters. In addition, we're offering print-on-demand options out of the UK, ensuring that everyone, no matter where they are, can enjoy this year’s beautiful catalog at an affordable price. Additionally, Kelly Kitson, is returning to coordinate shipping for our Canadian buyers, saving extra fees for our artists and making the catalog more accessible to all. Last year, when Kelly curated #TAE23 in Vancouver, her organizational skills and intuitive understanding of Excel and Google spreadsheets contributed significantly to the work we are doing now. Our workflow gets more streamlined each year, thanks to our volunteers!
Lastly, a special thank you to Susan Taylor, a UK native now living in McKinney, Texas, for her stunning cover art featured on our 2024 catalog. This year's catalog is being printed and shipped across Canada, the US, and the UK.
If you've pre-ordered a catalog and selected the UK as your shipping location, it's already on its way to you! In the US, we’ve just received our shipment from the printer, and many will be hand-delivered at our opening next weekend. If you’re attending the opening and paid for shipping, we’ll gladly refund your shipping fee—just stop by our sales table to pick up your catalog and receive any applicable refund. For our Canadian customers, we appreciate your patience. Since we had fewer orders in Canada, we needed to meet our minimum print requirement before processing. We promise that when your catalog arrives, it will have been well worth the wait!
Please Spread the Word! Once your catalog lands, we encourage you to share the love! Post your photos and videos on social media using #postcardartexhibit24 and help us spread the word. Every share helps ensure we can continue producing these catalogs year after year.
